Meng Chuan, the Yama (King of Hell) in the Underworld, mistakenly claimed the life of 24-year-old Lin Xiaoman due to a scribe’s error. To atone, he breaks the iron rule that “the Underworld must not interfere with humans” and descends to the mortal realm as a human named Meng Fan, becoming Lin’s roommate. While helping her fend off serial “accidental death warnings” and hiding his true identity, he gradually develops feelings for her that go beyond “making amends”—but the Underworld’s law dictates that if the Yama falls for a human, he’ll be annihilated. How will he choose between saving her life and guarding his own beating heart?
