A demonic monk practices dark sorcery by defiling women to absorb their essence. The enraged emperor leads his guards to hunt him down in the mountains, but he is ambushed, seriously wounded and falls into a stream, saved by herb-picker Aqing. While caring for the unconscious emperor, Aqing unexpectedly finds she is pregnant with three dragon cubs. This secret is learned by the emperor's vicious cousin who covets the throne. She steals the emperor's dragon-patterned jade pendant, enters the palace to claim kinship as the savior, attempting to seize the identity of the dragon's descendant, and a game around the dragon cubs, imperial power and dignity thus explodes.
