As she opens more doors, Lin learns the kid is a soul fragment of an ancient immortal—and the door connects her to a "cheat-code life" she never dreamed of. When she uses magic to organize reports, dodge overtime, and the kid grows into a handsome immortal holding her hand and saying, "I want your chips for life," Lin finally realizes: those "never open the door" warnings were fate’s invitation for a tired nobody to seize her chance at a better life.
