Lin Xiaoman, a burnt-out office drone, rents a run-down apartment to save money—only to be greeted by the first rule: "Never open the door for anyone at midnight." From then on, midnight knocks become her "fantasy trigger": one door reveals a fox spirit begging for bubble tea (who teaches her charm magic to handle difficult clients), another brings her future self (holding a resignation letter and screaming, "Stop being a work slave!"), even her missing cat jumps through to lead her to the raise application her boss hid. As she opens more doors, Lin learns the kid is a soul fragment of an ancient immortal—and the door connects her to a "cheat-code life" she never dreamed of. When she uses magic to organize reports, dodge overtime, and the kid grows into a handsome immortal holding her hand and saying, "I want your chips for life," Lin finally realizes: those "never open the door" warnings were fate’s invitation for a tired nobody to seize her chance at a better life.
