Until she steps on rotted wood by a cliff during a public welfare project recce in the Sichuan-Tibet rainforest. She’s saved by Lin Ye, a wild rescue team leader who crushes thorns barefoot, cuts the poison ivy around her wrist with a hunting knife, and even his shout of "Don’t move!" smells of pine resin. This "loss of control" is a key: Su Wan finds her collarbone, hidden under silk blouses, craving the touch of Lin Ye’s muddy fingers; Lin Ye, for the first time, hesitates about "freedom"—his stray dogs return to the mountains, but Su Wan’s eyes, when she says "I’m afraid I’ll never be任性 (willful)," make his hands shake more than when he climbed Mount Everest.
