Lin Xiao, from a small southern town, stays in Shanghai after graduation, squeezing into a 3-square-meter cubicle and working as a minimum-wage administrative intern. She strives to gain a foothold in the city but faces a dilemma in probation: either abandon her photography passion for boring internal work, or take a risky transfer that might fail. On the verge of collapse, she meets street photographer Chen Mo who chases artistic ideals too. He sees through her bravado, records her tenacity, and they fall in love through mutual salvation, but a conflict breaks out over career choices: should Lin Xiao choose stability for a place of her own, or follow her inner passion?
