Fresh out of college and back in the city, Lin Wan rented a cheap old mansion on the outskirts to cut costs. On her first night, faint sobbing of a woman drifted from the attic; the next day, a silver hairpin that didn't belong to her appeared on her dresser. Strange things kept piling up: doors locked and unlocked on their own, her laundry was torn to shreds. She turned to her childhood friend who knows folk customs for help, only to learn the mansion's former owner was a young lady who hanged herself out of injustice a century ago, her dowry and unredressed grievances hidden here. Now Lin Wan has to dodge the increasingly ferocious ghostly shadows and clear the lady's name, or she'll be trapped in this haunted house forever.
