Lin Xiaoman, a corporate slave, collapses under pressure from a tough client and flees to Foshan overnight to stay with her childhood friend Ajie, who runs a snack shop. Determined to lie low, she’s pestered by Old Gong—the odd neighbor who practices Tai Chi at the alley entrance—who insists on teaching her the “Foshan Shadowless Hand”! Xiaoman dismisses him as a senile prankster, until the snack shop faces forced demolition for a commercial project. Old Gong, using his ridiculously slow Tai Chi, easily subdues the thugs sent to wreck the shop. To her shock, she discovers Old Gong was the all-around champion of the 1980s Foshan Martial Arts Competition! When a burnt-out girl meets a reclusive master, and a cozy snack shop battles corporate power, a lively farce of “defending warmth with kung fu” unfolds in Foshan’s old alleys…
