Nestled along the East China Sea, the fishing village had long struggled with scarce medical resources. When Lin Amo, a young man who mastered his grandfather's traditional Chinese herbal and acupuncture skills, returned to his hometown, he was hailed as the "little divine healer" by the villagers. He cured elderly fishermen's chronic ailments with common coastal herbs, which threatened the interests of a greedy pharmaceutical merchant who planned to monopolize the village's medical supply and sell shoddy western medicine at exorbitant prices. Amo fought to protect his neighbors with his medical skills, outwitted the merchant, and silenced skeptics of folk remedies, finally securing the villagers' well-being and winning the heart of the local girl Azhi.
