After a broken relationship and a string of career setbacks, freelance illustrator Su Wan leaves the chaotic Beijing and returns to her late grandmother’s old house in a tranquil Jiangnan town for temporary healing. She meets Chen Yu, the quiet owner of a local osmanthus cake shop, who has guarded the family shop for a decade, waiting for his childhood sweetheart who went overseas and lost contact years ago. Su Wan plans to leave after recovery, but gradually warms up to Chen Yu’s gentle company. However, Chen Yu is still haunted by his past and dares not open his heart again. When Su Wan decides to settle down in the town, a long-hidden truth is finally revealed, and both of them finally get their long-awaited happy ending.
