Su Wan, an ancient painting restorer at Liu Garden, has guarded the half-finished "Jade Face Picture" for three years—it was left by her lover Gu Zhao, who disappeared. On the last night of the plum rain season, a soaking wet architect named Cheng Mo knocks on the garden gate; his face is identical to the "Jade Face" in the painting. To Su Wan's shock, Cheng Mo has the other half of the broken painting in his pocket—the last item Gu Zhao sent before his "death".
