Su Wanxia, an intern cultural relic restorer, takes charge of a Republic of China-era notebook. Inside is an unfulfilled promise from Gu Zhaoning—a student who planned to take 'Aju' to watch the sea sunrise in 1945 but missed it due to the war. While restoring it, she meets Lin Shiyan, an architect who looks exactly like Gu Zhaoning in the old photo inside the notebook. Together, they find Aju, now a 90-year-old woman who still keeps the other half of the boat ticket. As they help Aju fulfill her old dream, Su discovers that Lin has dreamed of 'Aju' since childhood—their encounter is a cross-time echo. This midsummer not only makes up for a 70-year regret but also lets the two young people gain their own 'entire midsummer'.
