Lin Xiaoman, the "Star Messenger" of the planetarium, writes "star messages" on sticky notes for visitors every day—until she meets Lu Shiyan, the "cold-blooded CEO" who wants to tear down the planetarium for a mall. He calls her message board "useless sentimentality"; she mocks him as a "star-ignorant blockhead". Their bickering becomes daily, but when Lu finds out his late mother was a regular on the board—hiding an unsent "star letter to Xiaoyan"—everything shifts. Xiaoman already knows his childhood secret of stargazing with his mom, and Lu gradually melts at her star-like warmth. On the eve of demolition, under the rooftop stars, his mom’s letter is finally opened: turns out, the thing they should "sign for" is the unspoken attraction hidden under their "frenemy" masks.
