Lin Xiaoman has kept watch over "Unfinished Bookstore"—the shop she co-owned with her ex-boyfriend Gu Chuan—for three years, rejecting all new romances. Until Gu Chuan suddenly appears with his fiancée—revealing he disappeared years ago due to late-stage stomach cancer, and now, on his deathbed, he just wants one last look at "their shop." Xiaoman pretends to be calm while serving them, but after Gu Chuan leaves, she takes out the engagement ring she’s hidden for three years. When Gu Chuan’s fiancée comes crying, saying "He called your name before he died," Xiaoman stands at the bookstore entrance watching the car drive away, and whispers softly, "I let go long ago"—yet the ring mark on her fingertip, unchanged for three years, betrays all the unspoken regret.
