In the old alley’s "Wei Yang Grocery Store," Lin Wan has guarded a wall of moonlit bookmarks for seven years, waiting for her missing boyfriend Gu Chuan—who promised, "Wait for the moon to set three times, and I’ll return." One day, a boy identical to Gu Chuan bursts in, holding the same bookmark but claiming, "I’m Gu Shen, Gu Chuan’s younger brother." Lin Wan discovers Gu Chuan’s diary in Gu Shen’s notebook: Gu Chuan faked his death to protect her from a smuggling case linked to her father’s debts. Gu Shen is here to fulfill his brother’s last wish: "Return the bookmark and make her forget me." But the final page of the diary freezes her—blood-stained words read: "If I come back in another identity, don’t expose me—I’m scared to lose you again."
