Su Wan, a cultural relic restorer, always dreams of herself in ancient attire waiting for a man with a jade flute outside Yunyin Temple until the moon sets. During a temple restoration project, she meets Lu Zhao, an architect—whose neck pendant is exactly the same as the one in her dream. Lu Zhao admits he also dreams of a woman in a moon-white dress praying in front of Buddha: "When clouds hide the moon and it sets, let's continue our unfulfilled fate." As the temple's underground palace opens, a mural reveals their past lives: a hundred years ago, Zhao Yuan, a young monk, faked his death to save Su Wan from being chased, while Su Wan kept the promise and died alone. Is this reunion a compensation of fate or another test? Can they untie the knot of their past lives and seize this belated love?
