Lin Ming hides his well-paid job and large savings to please his biased mother, pretending to be poor. He secretly cuts household expenses, transfers the couple’s savings to his mother, and forces his wife Su Wan to live a tight life to meet his mother’s endless demands. Su Wan, from tolerance to suspicion, collects evidence of Lin’s wealth and his secret transfers. When Lin’s mother comes to ask for a large "pension", Su Wan exposes his pretense immediately. Refusing internal friction, she files for divorce, takes back the misappropriated marital property, and starts her sober new life.
