Lin Zhaozhao, a newly graduated cultural relic restorer, breaks into the Gu's Private Museum to repair her grandmother's old hairpin, only to be hugged tightly by Gu Chengyuan—the museum owner—who mistakes her for his late beloved, Shen Wanxin. Gu offers a sky-high restoration fee to ask her to pretend to be "Wanxin" for a month. Zhaozhao agrees to fulfill her grandmother's wish, but as they spend time together, she discovers the deep affection hidden under Gu's cold exterior and falls for him. However, when she finds Wanxin's diary, she realizes: Gu had long recognized she wasn't a substitute through little details—what he fell in love with was always this Zhaozhao who gets paint all over her hands and dares to argue with him about the authenticity of Song Dynasty porcelain.
