"I'm Backing This Screenwriter" follows Lin Wan, a down-and-out screenwriter, who approaches Gu Jingshen—a capital tycoon holding key evidence to clear her name of plagiarism accusations from three years ago—only to be offered a deal: a contractual marriage to help him fend off his family's marriage pressure in exchange for the proof. Starting as mutually calculating "fake spouses", Lin Wan discovers the tenderness beneath Gu's cold exterior—he has long admired her talent and even protected her secretly. Gu, too, is drawn to Lin Wan's resilience and purity, slowly falling for her amid the fake marriage. Just as their feelings cross the "contractual" line, the mastermind behind Lin Wan's downfall reappears, determined to destroy her career and their relationship. Will this revenge-fueled contract game become a key to redemption or a chain to the abyss?
