During the Yongle era, Zheng He led his fleet on the seventh voyage to the Western Seas, only to be blown off course by a rare storm into the legendary "Mist Sea that devours fleets". Panic spread among the crew—his deputy accused him of "defying the emperor's order", and even his most trusted old sailor urged him to turn back. Then, Zheng He found a secret in a fragment of an ancient sea chart: behind the mist lay an unfinished "new trade route" from previous navigators.
