Lin Wan, a programmer, loses her sister to suicide after she's caught up in "The Punisher's Game"—an online voting game that "executes" people in the name of "justice". To uncover the truth, Lin Wan infiltrates the game disguised as a player, only to find every "punished" target hides a distorted truth: the female doctor accused of "cheating" was saving a terminal patient, and the "greedy" old man secretly funded 20 poor students. The game's mastermind, Shen Mo, is a "victim" who lost everything to false accusations years ago—he uses "violence against violence" to "enforce justice", but has long become the person he once hated most.
