Su Wan, a reclusive restorer of ancient books, possesses a unique ability—her fingertips can repair damaged ancient texts, but each restoration erases a memory of someone important to her. A commission brings her face to face with Gu Shen, a journalist investigating his mother’s disappearance: his mother, a restorer, vanished two decades ago with a fragmented “memory-tracing” manuscript. To uncover the truth, they team up to restore the manuscript. Yet, with each page Su Wan fixes, she forgets a piece of Gu Shen—from his name to the rainy night they shared. The manuscript gradually reveals a shocking secret: Su Wan’s “fingertip miracle” was implanted by her mother to save her years ago, and to stop the memory loss, she must give up her restoration ability forever. As the final page unfolds, Su Wan stares at the “stranger” in front of her, the light from her fingertips fading—will she choose to uncover her mother’s truth, or hold onto the present with him?
