Su Xiaoyan, a hospice volunteer, has been trapped in the regret of not seeing her mother for the last time. Until she meets Lin Shen, a lung cancer patient who refuses chemotherapy—his final wish is to run the 100-meter finish line of the school sports meeting with his 7-year-old daughter. Su helps him sneak out of the hospital, only to find by the track that Lin's 'finish line' is never about crossing it, but to make his daughter understand: 'Even if Dad is gone, you have to run to the end bravely.' When the whistle for his daughter's race blows, Lin's oxygen tube suddenly falls off. Holding his gradually cooling hand, Su finally understands the deep meaning of 'no turning back beyond the finish line'—it's not that you can't turn back, but that after fighting hard, you have to learn to say goodbye well.
