Zhong Kui, the ancient celestial ghost-hunter, accidentally travels to a 2023 city after touching a talisman! Once a demon-slaying master, he can't even ride a shared bike now, and is bound by a system—he must complete "modern ghost-hunting KPIs" to return to heaven. Desperate, he turns to Lin Xiaoman, a sharp-tongued boss of a ghost-exorcism agency. Lin finds him "outdated" but relies on his immortal powers to solve tough ghost cases; Zhong Kui thinks she's "mean" but falls for her when she stays up late teaching him modern life skills. When a thousand-year-old ghost tries to devour the city's spiritual energy, Zhong Kui has to finish his tasks while protecting the woman he just fell in love with—Is this ancient celestial master's modern counterattack fate or a premeditated scheme?
