Lin Wan, a wedding planner who’s witnessed too many fleeting romances, scoffs at the idea of “growing old together”—until she meets Gu Zhao, a vintage clock restorer who fixes a decade-old, unfinished wedding clock for a client, firm in his belief that “time refines true love.” They clash over an “expired wedding” commission: Lin dismisses it as adult self-pity, but Gu crouches at his workbench, using tweezers to pull out a proposal note hidden in the clock for ten years. When the old clock starts ticking again, the client sobs, “I lacked courage then, but I won’t wait now.” Lin suddenly remembers the unsent love letter in her drawer—and Gu is exactly the boy who waited for her at the clock shop years ago.
