Lin Wan, an obscure ancient book restorer, embarks on a journey to find half of The Record of Light due to her master's last wish, only to be bound with Gu Shen, a mysterious collector who claims to 'destroy the book'. As they clash while solving the ancient book's codes, they uncover the master's past love story missed due to a misunderstanding—Gu Shen is actually the grandson of the master's old flame, and he wants to destroy The Record of Light to hide his family's 'shame'. When the purpose of 'chasing light' shifts from 'fulfilling a last wish' to 'facing the past', the two who are used to escaping 'after the light fades' finally find the courage to rekindle their own light in each other.
