In 1980s Qingzhu Town, Lin Wanwan—guardian of her grandmother's acupuncture secrets—just marries her childhood sweetheart Chen Mo when he's crushed by warehouse roof rocks while saving villagers' grain from a storm, falling into a deep coma. The whole village tells her to give up, but Wanwan clings to her grandma's ancient acupuncture manual: she treks mountains for rare milkvetch root by day, uses silver needles on his Baihui Acupoint to keep him alive by night. Yet Chen Mo's heartbeat grows weaker, and Village Chief Li accuses her of "using dark magic to steal his soul," demanding to burn her book. Trapped between her lover's fading breath and the villagers' hostility, can Wanwan keep their promise and use her skills to break fate's chains?
