Lin Zhao, who studied tirelessly for a decade, finally became the Top Scholar—only to get a bombshell: the emperor betrothed him to Su Wantang, the sugar tycoon of Jiangnan! Rumor called her ruthless, able to crush rivals with ten carts of sugarcane and once said, "Men are less sweet than sugar." But when he showed up nervously, he saw a girl in a goose-yellow dress holding a sugar painting, smiling: "Top Scholar, I made osmanthus sugar for you." To his shock, all his exam funds, the antidote for an assassination, even the palace exam brush—were secretly from her. Torn between being an honest official and his wife's "sugar-coated attacks", Lin Zhao complained: "I want political achievements, not sugar!" Yet when he was framed and jailed, Su Wantang blocked the capital gate with a ship of sugar: "My family's sugar sweetens the world, and protects my Top Scholar." With sweet twists and funny moments, watch the poor scholar and the sugar tycoon "compete with wits and sweetness"!
