Lin Xiaoman, an archaeology student, accidentally activates a mechanism while restoring a Qin Dynasty bronze mirror and travels back to the late Warring States period. There, she meets Ying Zheng—who hasn’t yet become the First Emperor—trapped in despair under Lü Buwei’s usurpation and assassins from six states. Armed with the ability to foresee the future, Xiaoman tries to help him escape danger but gets entangled in more complex court intrigue. Ying Zheng, initially suspecting her as a “demoness,” is gradually moved by her modern spirit: daring to confront the powerful and declaring, “People are not mere straw dogs.” When Xiaoman realizes her interference might derail history, and Ying Zheng is about to take the key step of unifying the six states, how will they hold onto their true hearts amid the whirlpool of fate?
