靠画「盛夏蝉鸣」走红的插画师苏小满，每年夏至都要锁上工作室——那是她和高中同桌林深的「蝉约」：十年前林深突然搬家，只留半只蝉蜕和纸条「蝉鸣停时我回来」。今年盛夏前三天，穿白衬衫握蝉蜕的林深推门而入，可身后医生却悄悄说「他癌症扩散，撑不过夏天」。原来林深这些年在研究人工养蝉，想给小满一场「不会结束的蝉鸣」，而他的生命，刚好停在盛夏到来前。
