Liu Huiqin, a widow for 15 years, worked three jobs to put her son Wu Jun through college and saved up for his apartment down payment. But to marry a materialistic girlfriend, Wu secretly sold the apartment for the betrothal gift, called Huiqin a "burden," and kicked her to a shack at the suburban garbage dump. On a rainy night, Huiqin fainted from crying—until a luxury car pulled up. Out stepped Chen Jianguo, her husband of six months! It turns out Chen is a retired real estate tycoon who hid his identity and was touched by Huiqin's kindness. Enraged by Wu's ingratitude, he handed Wu a 5 million yuan check: "Take it and never bother your mom again." Wu was overjoyed—until he found the check was fake, his "girlfriend" was Chen's assistant (sent to test him), and Huiqin, now Chen's sole heir, had already left for abroad with Chen.
