Lin Wan, an emergency room nurse, works overtime late into the night. On her way home, she finds Fu Jingshen—the powerful leader of the Fu Group—curled up in the snow, burning with snake venom. She instinctively tries to suck the venom from his wound, but Fu Jingshen, delirious from the toxin, yanks her into his arms. In the snowlight, his scorching breath mingles with the crescent moon birthmark on his neck, and he bites a faint pink tooth mark on Lin Wan's wrist. After a night of confusion, Fu Jingshen vanishes, leaving only the scent of pale orchid on her cuff—until half a month later, on the top floor of the Fu Group building, Fu Jingshen holds a photo of the tooth mark on her wrist, his eyes dark: "Nurse Lin, it's time to repay the 'antidote' you owe me."
