Lin Wan, a small-town bookstore owner, lives a slow life caring for her mother with Alzheimer's—until Gu Chuan, her first love who disappeared a decade ago, returns as a neurosurgeon, offering to take her mother to Beijing for treatment. What Lin doesn't know: Gu left because he was diagnosed with a rare disease and barely survived; what Gu hasn't told her: he's been secretly funding her mother's medication all these years. When her mother's condition suddenly worsens and Gu's medical records are found, how will these two 'afraid-to-love' people wait for their spring in the twilight of their lives?
