Bei-piao screenwriter Su Ni lingers in hutongs for days to capture winter stories of old Beijing, only to clash with returned photographer Lin Yi over "competing to shoot the same old locust tree". Forced to collaborate, they find that the "gratitude token from Lin Yi's grandma" he's searching for is hidden in Su Ni's grandma's old trunk—twenty years ago, it was Su Ni's grandma who gave the homeless grandma a bowl of hot congee on a winter day. As snow from the old locust tree falls into the lens and the old token reappears, the fate of the two young people was already foreshadowed in the warmth of old Beijing's daily life.
