In 1932 Shanghai, underground Communist Lin Qiutang (played by Ma Li) disguises herself as a tycoon's daughter to retrieve a letter containing the "Red Coin Plan" by getting close to Guo Tingshen (played by Guo Yunhan), the young master of a chamber of commerce in charge of transport. They pose as a "fake couple" for mutual benefit, but secretly test each other—Lin aims to find the letter, while Guo, who has long detected her identity, harbors a protective instinct due to a childhood life-saving favor. When Japanese spies suddenly ambush them and a chamber traitor leaks their whereabouts, the "Red Coin" behind the letter turns out to be a batch of gold for the frontline! Forced to flee together, they battle enemies while confronting a heart-pounding truth in the chaotic world: Is the mission a priority, or is the life of a loved one more important?
