In 1932 Shanghai, underground Communist Lin Qiutang (played by Ma Li) disguises herself as a tycoon's daughter to retrieve a letter containing the "Red Coin Plan" by getting close to Guo Tingshen (played by Guo Yunhan), the young master of a chamber of commerce in charge of transport.
