Gu Zhaoyue, daughter of the Prime Minister's mansion (played by Yang Yingzhen), saves the wounded Northern Town General Liu Beige. They fall in love, but the general's marriage proposal is a mission to investigate the "colluding with the enemy" frame-up of her family. On their wedding night, the mansion is surrounded, and Zhaoyue watches her father die by Liu's sword, jumping off a cliff in despair. Three years later, a poison doctor named "Jin Se" punishes corrupt officials who framed loyalists, while the new capital governor is the "resurrected" Liu Beige—he uncovered the truth and wants to clear Zhaoyue's name. But when they meet again, Zhaoyue's poison needle is at his throat: "General, pay for the blood you spilled."
