Su Chang, the night guard of the planetarium, has been haunted by a mystery lately—every night at 10 PM, a girl in a white dress named Zhang Xiaoyan would sit in front of the old projector, murmuring about waiting for "the day when the starry river falls". There’s no trace of her in the surveillance footage, and his colleagues laugh at him for seeing things. Until Su Chang finds an old video tape left by his mother—it shows 7-year-old him drawing the starry sky with a girl of the same name, who promised to watch the "Nian Nian Starry River" with him when they grew up. This girl is exactly the neighbor Xiaoyan who disappeared 10 years ago while chasing meteors with her mom. Worse, Zhang Xiaoyan starts forgetting her name and even becomes transparent. Su Chang finally uncovers the truth: Xiaoyan pushed him to safety when he fell down a slope, but she fell into a gully herself. Her obsession is trapped in the starry sky they drew together. Now, he must recall the past before she vanishes. But when he finally remembers everything, Xiaoyan’s figure is already fading into the projector’s starlight...
