Zhao, the guardian of Mengpo Village in the Underworld, was born without tears and punished by the Heavenly Emperor—she must collect three drops of "true tears that can melt stone" or be reduced to dust. She dismissed "true love" as mortal nonsense until she met Lin Shen, a surgeon who broke into the Underworld to save his terminally ill sister. Lin offered a deal: he'd help Zhao find the tears in exchange for seven more days of life for his sister. Together, they collected tears from an old woman who waited 50 years for her soldier husband, and a father who raised his disabled son alone for his late wife. But the third tear? It was in Zhao's own heart—she had long fallen for Lin. When Zhao's tear fell, Lin's sister's condition improved miraculously, but Zhao was about to vanish for "falling in love with a mortal." Can Lin's obsession reverse fate at the edge of life and death?
