Xin Fang, an advertising planner, has been having a string of bad luck lately: her project was stolen by a colleague, and her three-year boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. She squatted in an alley, crying until she passed out, and picked up a chubby orange cat—only to find the cat could talk, saying, "Take my advice: focus on your career first, then deal with the jerks." Half-believing, Xin Fang used a "pet companionship" idea to save her dying project. But the cat's oddities grew: it could knit her grandma's old wool socks, sing the nursery rhymes her grandma taught her as a child, and even find her childhood diary hidden at the bottom of the drawer. Until one morning, a man in a white shirt lay in the cat bed. He rubbed his messy hair and smiled: "Grandma was afraid you'd be too stubborn, so she let me come as a cat to tell you—you deserve a life without委屈ing yourself."
