Su Wan, a street-smart thief, sneaks into the palace to retrieve the "Nine-Dragon Jade Plaque"—the heirloom of her sect. By mistake, she breaks into Emperor Xiao Jingyan's bedroom. Expecting death, she's shocked when Xiao offers a deal: help him unmask the traitors in the court, and get the plaque back. Forced to walk the tightrope of power struggles, Su Wan navigates Xiao's unpredictable moods and evades the traitors' pursuit. Gradually, she catches a glimpse of the loneliness beneath Xiao's cold exterior. When the traitors' plot is exposed and the truth about the plaque comes to light, she realizes that the moment she stole into the palace, she had already "stolen" her heart to the seemingly ruthless emperor.
