40-year-old Lin Shen is the "mysterious widower" in the neighborhood—he never works outside but spoils his "daughter" Lin Xiaoman like a "villa princess". Yet Xiaoman is always 12 and has never stepped out of the community. The truth: Xiaoman is a spirit cub Lin Shen saved 100 years ago, cursed by the spirit elder to never grow; any contact with "human aura" outside would make her vanish. Lin Shen trapped her with lies: "Monsters eat kids outside." Until Xiaoman sneaked to the convenience store and met Chen Mo, a transfer student who could see the spirit pattern on her forehead. The century-old danger approached: the elder who cursed Xiaoman finally found them, and Chen Mo was actually a "bait" sent by the elder. Lin Shen has to face his past, while Xiaoman struggles between "dad's protection" and "her own life"—should she continue to be the "forever daughter", or risk opening the "forbidden door"?
