Lin Xiaotang, a senior high school student, lives with her adoptive father Lin Jianguo, a steamed bun vendor. Her life is turned upside down when she defends a bullied classmate and offends a rich second-generation teenager. The bully’s family gathers a crowd to threaten her at the bun shop. To her surprise, Lin Jianguo—who usually avoids even trivial arguments—steps in front of her and calls for help, summoning several black cars. It turns out this man, who makes her sugar-filled buns daily, is the once-feared “Brother Long” from the underworld, who retired a decade ago to raise her. As old enemies reappear, Lin Jianguo must choose between being a father or returning to his past, while Xiaotang finally realizes that her father’s ordinary life hides the most passionate love.
