Lin Wan, the forest guardian of Qinggang Mountain, safeguards her mother’s last wish and a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree on the mountain. Unexpectedly, she reunites with Zhou Yishen, a returned architect—he not only carries the task of demolishing the mountain to build a resort but also hides the secret of his sudden disappearance five years ago. They clash sharply over the mountain’s fate: Lin Wan risks her life to protect the tree, while Zhou Yishen secretly plans “to leave her a future where she can stay with the mountain”. When the excavator’s bucket targets the old ginkgo, Zhou Yishen takes out their former engagement silver lock and tearfully reveals the truth: “I never wanted to leave you, let alone destroy your mountain”—but by then, the roar of the countdown has already begun. Can they hold onto their shared obsession, or will they have to bid farewell to the green mountain?
