Retired aunt Li Guifen loses 200,000 yuan of her pension to an "elderly healthcare product investment" scam and tries to jump off a building—only to be held back by her best friend Lin Xiaoman, a former anti-fraud police officer who quit after a mistake caused an elderly person's suicide. To save Guifen, Xiaoman picks up her old case notebook again. She comforts Guifen's breakdown while investigating the scam: from the "health consultants" handing out flyers in the community to the "financial company" hidden in the office building, even discovering her former partner is linked to the scammers. The two sisters go from arguing—"one desperate for money, one afraid of making mistakes again"—to supporting each other through the scammers' threats and the elderly's misunderstandings. In the end, they not only recover the pension but also take down the fraud ring targeting retirees. Xiaoman also regains her original intention of being a police officer through Guifen's words: "You became a cop not to never fail, but to help people."
