Lin Shu, the top disciple of the Xuanmen Sect, was born with a damaged spiritual root. During his tribulation, he accidentally awakened the "Demon Lord System"—devouring demon qi can repair his root. Trapped between his sect's iron rule of "eradicating demons to defend the way" and the system's forced task of "absorbing demon qi," Lin Shu struggles on the edge of immortals and demons. When he uncovers that the sect's elders are hiding demon artifacts and killing villagers to cultivate power, and meets a fox demon from the demon realm who sacrifices herself to protect humans, he begins to doubt the "immortals are good, demons are evil" stereotype. However, the system suddenly warns: "Exceeding the demon qi absorption limit will turn you into a demon completely." Lin Shu must expose the sect's darkness while resisting the system's erosion. Can he break the chains of the immortal-demon divide?
