In a poverty-stricken small mountain village in Northeast China in 1980, the younger brother fell seriously ill while his father failed to borrow money everywhere. Desperate, the younger brother accidentally awakened an animal contract, allowing him to summon weasels to hunt pheasants, sables to find precious medicinal materials, and hunting dogs to guard the mountains. Abiding by the ancestral precept of "taking the big and leaving the small", he did not drain the pond to catch fish. With the help of animal partners, he not only raised medical fees for his brother but also opened a purchasing station to sell mountain specialties outside, finally leading the whole village out of poverty and rewriting the fate of the mountain village.
