Lin Chuan travels back to the famine-stricken 1960s, where the entire village survives on tree bark and grass roots—except his girlfriend Su Xiaoqing, who always "magically" produces white flour steamed buns to save him. Just when he thinks he's found a "heaven-sent partner," he returns early on a rainy night and catches Su Xiaoqing moving bags of refined rice from a glowing time portal! It turns out she's a 2024 live streamer, deliberately "feeding" him to create a "famine sweet pet" script for followers. When the lie is exposed, Lin Chuan decides to use the portal to turn the tide: sell famine-era mountain products in modern times and bring back seeds to save the village. But Su Xiaoqing's company threatens to cut the time connection, leaving them torn between "survival calculations" and "genuine affection." In the famine, is their love a rehearsed script or a bone-deep redemption?
