Lin Jianghai, the "scrap-collecting dad" in the old town, pushes a tricycle to collect waste every day. Neighbors mock him for being "utterly poor", and even his daughter Xiaoman's boyfriend finds him embarrassing, urging Xiaoman to cut ties with him. Until Xiaoman's startup suddenly loses investor funding and is on the brink of bankruptcy, Lin Jianghai quietly takes out a billion-yuan check to turn the tide—revealing he's a financial tycoon who retired a decade ago. He gave up his career to accompany his terminally ill wife and has since collected scrap to remember her. Now, to protect his daughter, he has to expose his identity. When the "shabby old man" becomes a "billionaire tycoon", neighbors' attitudes shift instantly, Xiaoman feels estranged by his concealment, and old enemies start circling... Can Lin protect his daughter while holding onto the ordinary life he cherishes?
