The Pen in Mortal World: For You, I'll Never Fail follows Fu Yingying, the literary genius "Mr. Su Mo," who disguises herself as a man to become a bookboy for Xiao Yue (the "Jade Pen" of the literary circle) — all to expose his alleged "hypocrisy." What starts as a plotted literary showdown melts away in the warmth of their cohabitation: Xiao Yue brings her warm tea when she burns the midnight oil revising manuscripts, shields her from aggressive nobles, and even secretly mends her worn cuffs. Fu Yingying soon realizes the "scheme" she’s after is actually Xiao Yue’s kindness to protect poor scholars. And her heart, once used for reconnaissance, has long fallen for him sincerely. As her disguise nears exposure, can this encounter born from calculation turn into a mutual love story?
