Lin Chuan, a down-and-out rural youth, stumbles upon a glowing dragon egg and hatches a cute dragon named "Xiaoguai"—who can revive withered trees and cure incurable diseases. Using Xiaoguai's magic, he revives the village's abandoned terraces to grow healing organic produce, but this triggers the jealousy of the village chief's son—who once looked down on him for poverty. The son colludes with urban developers to forcefully demolish the village and steal the dragon egg. While outsmarting the villains, Lin Chuan unites the villagers to build the "Dragon's Nest Valley" eco-tourism empire, and falls for Su Xiaoqing, a teacher who stays committed to the countryside. When the cute dragon's power clashes with human greed, can the underdog rise to become a tycoon and protect his hometown's last warmth?
