Lin Xiaoman, an ordinary office worker, has recently been haunted by eerie rat shadows—dead rats in the fridge, rat faces in the mirror, and grinding teeth at midnight. What’s more terrifying? These "rats" carry the keepsakes of her sister who went missing three years ago. Following clues to an abandoned suburban research institute, she discovers her sister’s soul is trapped in a rat colony by a cult. Even her policeman boyfriend doubts her sanity, calling it "hallucinations." Will she face the soul-eating "Rat King" or abandon her sister to become the next sacrifice? Clutching her sister’s hair ribbon, Lin realizes: the "rats" gnawing at her life are never animals—they’re humanity’s dirtiest desires. And she will fight against the shadows to get her sister back.
